This is Dooars. Mainly composed of the Districts of Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar, Dooars has numerous beautiful places to visit including hills, wild life sanctuaries, tea gardens, rivers and so on.
Lying in the Himalayan Foot-hills, Dooars has a great beauty. It is the gateway to the Hill Stations of Darjeeling – Sikkim Regions. The wildlife-rich tropical forests, innumerable hill streams cutting across the green carpet of tea gardens and undulating plains, low hills rising up from the rivers all make it one of the most picturesque destinations. The Dooars valley, stretching from the river Teesta on the west to the river Sankosh on the east, an area covering roughly 130 km by 40 km, forms a major part of the Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts and a little part of the Coochbehar and Darjeeling districts. More than these there are many beautiful rivers to be visited in Dooars.
